    The museum expands over 25,000 sq.m. It stands tall with its new technology and impressive attractions. The museum takes one on a ride to the past, present and future of the UAE. It tells its visitor about how it came into being, how were its early years, about the founding fathers, their hurdles in bringing the seven states together and the important paperwork in the history of the state. The museum uses special lightening effects, voice effects, audios, video, interactive screens, imagery, interactive maps and especially the 3-D structures to give its visitor the best set of attractions. It also has a section where the guests or visitors play a game in order to reveal information. This way the visitors take more interest, participate and learning about history is made fun.

    THE EXHIBITS 

    The Etihad Museum provides its visitor with a gallery designed in chronological order of the major events which took place from 1968 to 1974 and resulted in the union of the Emirates in 1971. There are a total of ten sections of the exhibition in the museum which layout the journey of the Emirates and it’s founders for the visitors. 

    Let’s go through all the sections of the Etihad Museum one by one.

    • SECTION 1

    This majestic section showcases the faces of the profound founders of the Emirates. There are pictures lined up of every each of them. In addition to these screens are also attached with these on which their biographies are shown. There are also glass showcases in which their belonging are kept. This part is considered exceptional as it shows the never seen before videos, pictures and belonging of the leaders. 

    • SECTION 2

    This section is all about the union of the Emirates. It offers special effect display of the events which took place in the history of the Emirates and led to its union. Imagery, music and videos are also used to give the visitors better attractions.

    • SECTION 3

    This section showcases a map. Before the union of the emirates, the UAE was divided into the Trucial States. The sections showcase the map of the Trucial States (before the union) so that the visitors can have a look at the UAE before union geographically. This map is interacting there are audios and videos installed so that while having a look the visitor can play them to have a piece of brief information about the states.  

    • SECTION 4

    This section is rather small but informative than the other sections. It mainly displays the negotiations held between Emirates and the neighbouring Arab countries in the early years of UAE. The screen is set up in this portion which is interactive as they have videos and audios installed in them for the visitor’s interest and information. 

    • SECTION 5

    This section of the Etihad Museum uses the irrigation canal illustration to show the lined up events of the history which took place in the foundation of the Emirates. It splits into 3 sections chronologically taking the visitors through the major events such as the formation of the Trucial council. 

    • SECTION 6

    This section is called the “seeds of unity”. Very particular 3-D structures are used in this section to present how the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan meets his fellow countryman and leader the Sheikh Rasheed bin Saeed Al Maktoum at the place of Sayh Al-Sadira. The visitors claim that the technology is so magnificent that it feels like as if the leaders are present right there in the room.

    • SECTION 7

    This is a very interesting section for all the visitors as they get to play a game in this section. Here, what they have to do is disclose hidden encrypted messages by aligning seven cubes consisting of the interactive screens. Each of the cubes displays different information, audios and pictures about the theme. 

    • SECTION 8

    This section takes us back to the founding leaders. This time the exhibition showcases the hurdles and the complications faced by the founding leaders. As the visitors go through this section they get to see all the information about the formal and non-formal meetings which were held among the leader in order to bring Emirates together.

    • SECTION 9

    Section 9 of the Etihad Museum is considered very important as it has all the paperwork. The constitution of the UAE which was signed by the founding fathers is kept here. Its copies in English and Arab are kept here. Another very important document which is kept here is the treaty of friendship between the UAE and the United Kingdom which was signed by Sheikh Zayed. He also announced the establishment of the federation of united Arab emirates on this very same day. 

    • SECTION 10

    This is the last section which is an open hall. It has interactive screens all around the hall with educational information on them. It also shows the emirates collectively, its past, the present and the future. It shows how firm and united the Emirates stand.

    In the surrounding of the main building of the Etihad Museum, there are still a lot of attractions for the visitors. The union flag, the guest palace and the union house are all present in its surrounding which makes it more special and important in its own. All of these are of particular importance as the union house is the birthplace of UAE, it is believed that the founders gathered at the union flag after signing the treaty, the guest palace has the Sheikh Rashid’s office, his majlis and his dining room having the capacity of around three hundred people. 

    The Etihad Museum not only offers art, knowledge and attractions for its guests, it also has other facilities too such as a coffee shop, a library, an auditorium, a gift shop and much more. 

    The Etihad Museum tickets are available online. It can be visited alone, with family or a group etc.

    • All the kids under 5 and the people of determination are free to visit the museum. 

    It is recommended to go with a group in order to save some money.

    The museum is located in Dubai at 1 Jumeirah street, across 2nd December street, Opposite to the Al- Hudaiba award building.

    For the people who use personal transportation to get there, there are plenty of parking lots present around the museum. And for the ones using the public transport the Al Jafaliya stop on the Dubai Metro red line is the closest stop. 

    The Etihad Museum opens for the visitors at 10:00 am and closes at the 8:00 pm. The visitors claim and recommend that the time from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm is the best time to visit the museum as you can see the glorious building in kits full glory in the golden hours and it’s the best time to get some pictures!
