This village features centuries-old towers, forts, and citadels. There are around 30 structures present within Heritage village that are of different sizes. One of the main attractions within Heritage Village is the house of Bait Al Wali who was the local ruler of the time. Walk inside this house to find the historic children’s rooms, bedrooms, courtyards, and kitchen. 

This well-maintained and well-put heritage site also feature two watchtowers and a mosque as well. One tower faces the southern side and the other one looks over the eastern side. The doors are over 2.5 meters tall. To go inside these doors, you would need a rope. Climbing up over this rope will give you a unique and distinct vantage point to explore the whole area. The complex also features a cemetery inside it as well. 

The museum within the village features traditional Emirati dresses, weapons, utensils, handicrafts, musical instruments, and artworks. Apart from this, there are plenty of life-sized figurines of the tribesmen as well. 

The authorities at the time of reconstruction of the building in the year 2001 made sure that the material used for the repair is similar to the one which was used to build these structures a long time ago. This was done to ensure that the essence of this place was retained. 

Located on a short distance is the Al Sharia site which is a palm tree farm. Here you would be able to see the old falaj network which is an underground irrigation system developed in the pre-historic era so that locals can continue farming when rainfall gets scarce. This provides an overview of how crops and trees were grown by locals earlier which were essential for their survival. 

The resting space located in the outdoors of the site is called Al Barza. This is where you can enjoy having dates and Arabic coffee. The area also has a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs and keepsakes from this trip. 

TIPS:

Make sure to carry your ID proof and passport at all times while crossing the territory of UAE. You need to keep in mind that there would be no restaurants or cafes in the areas so make sure to bring your own food. Do not forget to wear your comfortable footwear and clothes since there would be a lot of walking. 

If you are looking for a cooler temperature to visit this destination then the best time of the year would be from September to March. You can also visit this place during summers but there would be a strong chance of heat strokes. Moreover, the best time of the day to visit this place is in the morning or late evening when the sunlight is not as harsh as the mountainous regions receive. It would take you around 2 hours to complete the tour of this village.
