This lovely lakefront resort, which spans 350,000 square feet, was created by the same developer who created City Walk and La Mer in Dubai. It has a lake, bakery, walking trails, an organic farmer’s market, and an 18-meter-tall windmill, giving off a rustic ambiance.

    Al Khawaneej is the actual Emirati side of the city, with a high proportion of locals living there. The development is bordered to the east by Al Awir, an agricultural hub of the emirate that is home to numerous farms, including one owned by the royal Maktoum family.
